“Dancealble, I would place Mr. Williams alongside such artists as Page France, Asher Lev, or Sufjan Stevens, all of whom he shares a faith and a similar sound with. A certain type of new folk sound with a lot of indie darling credibility. Apparently the man puts on an incredible and personable show. If anyone has the chance to catch him live please please please make an effort to get out and see him. He continues to impress with the offerings on his myspace page and mark my words, Zach will be huge. All in due time he will play every indie festival from Bonnaroo to Pitchfork. And he will dominate.”

WWW.BROOKLYNSKEPTIC.NET WRITES::::

“I had the incredible luck of seeing a great Park Slope musician – Zach Williams – on my first visit to Bar 4. He was also joined briefly by Joely Pittman who sang backup on what is now my favorite song ever, Dirty Feet.”

I had the privilege of seeing, hearing, and meeting Zach last week at Clemson, SC. In a small room with just his guitar and his incredible voice, he rocked my soul as strong as it’s been rocked in a long, long time. This a MAJOR TALENT just waiting for the world’s discovery. What’s wrong with you world? You’re missing something special if you don’t listen to this incredible singer/songwriter. His music defies easy classification. Some might see him as a folk-rocker, or a rocker, or a soul singer. I see him as all of these things, but I see him as SOUL singer. That much soul has to be capitalize. Don’t bother classifying him, just listen. It’s a wonderful experience.

An additional note, Zach’s performance at Clemson was sponsored by To Write Love On Her Arms. Check out this wonderful organization at twloha.com.

Hey, I was at the To Write Love on Her Arms thing in Brooklyn, and I was just wondering if you were gonna release an acoustic CD of your stuff? Because I really enjoyed your version of that song James from that day, just you being on the guitar and having that girl sing with you. Thanks, keep going strong.

Zach – Loved your singing and playing at Southcrest Church and tell Josiah he makes the flute look cool!

  9. Sean Byers November 25th, 2008 9:54 pm

    Hey man,
Your site is totally blessing me Zach. Its been so long since I last saw you and your wife at Woodstock… your music is great and your sound equally unique and soul-full. I am truly blown away at your relentless pursuit of your call to Him and even though I rarely think about you anymore, I am compelled to pray and be of any support I can be to spur you on to continue in your doing good for all the right reasons. Keep it up man. I’m totally encouraged and stoked to see your growth and now being a role model and leader.
Happy Thanksgiving and congratulations on the new baby girl!!
    Sean Byers

    Hi ,
I saw you play in Brooklyn and i was really moved by you, your music, and your story. I am a musician also and i was wondering if you could send me like a chord chart or tabs or something, and lyrics for your song fears. i would really love to play that song in particular. I would never take credit for it though. If you could get back to me that would be great. Thank you

Hey there! I was fortunate enough to hear you at FAU in January. I came up to you after the show and shook your hand. I have shaken the hands of a hundred or so famous musicians/artists and this time it was different. Something about your performance made me feel different. From the strumming of your guitar to the stomping of your feet, I was in awe. You are an exceptional performer, artist, musician, whatever you want to call it. You’re not natural but you’re definitely amazing. As a musician I respect appreciate what you do. Thank you for coming back to FAU and performing for us. You’re part of a great thing. I hope to be purchasing you albums in the mall soon. Take care and thank you again for the inspiration.

God bless as you guys start a new church.

  30. Nate October 16th, 2009 10:11 am

Saw you perform at the Catalyst conference and was amazed at your talent. After which, I bought your cd via iTunes. Loved it, however, Names that Fell is not the AMAZING fully acoustic version you played at the conference.
Not that you need suggestions, but you are plenty good enough on your own. The “band” version is not nearly as powerful. Would you have the acoustic version available somewhere?

    Keep up the great stories.

  31. stef October 17th, 2009 1:33 pm

saw you last night @ public assembly – you guys were fantastic!! the whole mood of the crowd was amazing, especially during ‘take care,’ everybody singing along with abandon – thanks for making such great music, i had a wonderful time!

I saw Zach at Heavy and Light a year ago and was completely blown away by his stage presence. The man is absolutely astounding live and I sincerely hope to see him again.

I recently bought Story Time on iTunes and have since fallen in love with it. The music is wonderful whether on an mp3 or a stage, but Zach is on the top of my list for lives show to see.

  36. Kelly March 20th, 2010 10:15 pm

Hey Zach, just saw you perform last night at the Fillmore in Charlotte with Ben Folds and thought you were amazing! Any chance you’ll be releasing Losing You Slowly or Beat the Drum (I think that was the name…) soon? Best of luck!

  37. Ron March 21st, 2010 3:11 pm

    Zach,
Saw you open for Ben Folds last night in Norfolk. You might have been regretting that bow-tie decision, but I hope you’re not regretting the decision to play that room. Your voice filled it, man. There’s another band I listen to called Hoots and Hellmouth who classify what they play as “new music for old souls.” I’d say that fits you just about right. Keep on doing what you do. Wish you luck and all the best.

  38. Cyrus March 22nd, 2010 5:55 pm

I saw you with Ben Folds a few days ago, and I LOVED it. I was just wondering when you will be releasing an album with the songs you played to open, like “I’m The One You Should Have Let Go” and “I’m Losing You Slowly”. It was great!

  39. ALexis March 22nd, 2010 9:47 pm

    Zach,

My boyfriend and I caught your show at the Norva in Norfolk on 3/20. We were so unbelievably impressed. Just beautiful music. The song about your daughter brought me to tears. I am also friends with Justin and Anna Street–and I was so delighted to know you were a friend of theirs! It is so awesome to see you on tour with Ben. I can’t imagine its too much longer till we see you headlining at the Norva. Again, beautiful music and awesome performance. Blessings to you, your fam, and your career.

    ~Alexis

  40. Emma March 24th, 2010 8:36 am

Clicked on you because of the rave review from Amy Lee. That’s quite a compliment. She’s quite right. You’ve really got great talent.
I might ask if you could hint at some type of testimony here on the site perhaps? if applicable that is.

You’re too good of a secret to keep.
